Dear Luke, I'm so glad you're sticking around. After reading your beautifully honest post, I can sense the artist we know and admire for a long time is still here. I don't know anything about parenthood, but I know life. With its ups and downs. And I know how tough life is for artists like you. Thanks for letting us following your path. Hang in there!
Thanks for all the great music - in response to your email I suggest you take a photo of your babies hand with yours and repeat, 1 week,1 month...you will begin to see a difference each time but also the same thing - your hand in theirs - that's really powerful
I discovered you in December. Your music got me through the hardest week of my life. It spoke to me in a very direct fashion. My wife suffered a heart attack at 48 years old on dec 21st. I spent Christmas by her side in the hospital while she was unconscious. She passed on the 28th of December. There was something beautiful about listening to some of your new album by her side, but having the rest of it released after she passed. It kind of ties the before and after together for me. Thank you for making and creating. I assume you’ve experienced some level of grief after listening to your music. Hang in there. They eventually sleep through the night :)
Now here’s a thought…a song idea for you working title my hand in yours?
This could lead the listener on a journey with each verse referring to your hand in someone else’s- from your mother’s hand as a baby, your father’s your best friend’s your first lover, a grandparent to the mother of your child to your child’s.

The mere act of continually contemplating all of those questions in Still Making indicates a deep appreciation for your life, your craft, and those you love. There is no greater impact than a first born on one’s redistribution of priorities and the capacity for the heart to grow even larger. This is only the beginning.
